THE FULFILMENT OF A GOSPEL MESSAGE
The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown, it is the biggest shrub of all and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and shelter in its branches.
ACTS has its genesis in 2006 when a small group of 20, including parishioners from the Church of Our Lady Queen of Peace, went to share the joy of Christmas with the students of Don Bosco Phum Chrey School in Cambodia. In ten years, ACTS has grown to some nine missions in four countries – Cambodia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam – attended by over 500 participants from 30 parishes across Singapore as well as from other countries, becoming the largest overseas Catholic mission ministry in the Archdiocese of Singapore.
ACTS’ holistic mission programmes cover medical and health, education and scholarship, humanitarian aid and famine relief, social outreach and the building of grottos dedicated to Mother Mary. These programmes involve not only mission participants, but more importantly, the local communities ACTS has the privilege to work with. These local partners are the religious and the secular, the latter hailing from all strata of society with different religious persuasions. ACTS believes in the wisdom of empowering local communities to eventually undertake the running of the projects ACTS initiates, whether medical clinics or clean water supply, to name but a few.
To share our experience of Christ, our skills and our resources with the children, the poor and the needy overseas.
To share the joy of service.
