7.8 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE IN TURKEY AND SYRIA

A 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck the Pazarck district of Kahramanmaraş in southeast Turkey on 6 February 2023 at 4.17 am. More than 9,000 deaths have been reported. Many families who lost their homes are sleeping on the streets in sub-freezing temperatures, using any necessary means to stay warm.

CHARIS is appealing for S$100,000 in support of Caritas Internationalis' national organisations on the ground to provide emergency relief aid for the impacted victims in Turkey and Syria.
