JUBILEE YEAR: BRINGING HOPE TO THE FORGOTTEN
JUBILEE YEAR: BRINGING HOPE TO THE FORGOTTEN

For many, walking through the Holy Doors in Rome during the Jubilee is a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage. But for the sick, the poor, and the forgotten, such a journey is impossible—until now. With the permission of the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life, we brought the Jubilee to them, along with a personal message of hope from the Holy Father.
Siriporn* (not her real name) sits quietly in her bamboo hut, nestled deep in the hills near the Thailand-Myanmar border. At 83, her legs no longer carry her, and her children are far away—her son in Bangkok, her daughter married and moved. If the path to her village is passable, she receives a visit from the parish priest once a month, covering a territory as large as Singapore. But this year, something extraordinary is happening: the Jubilee of Hope is coming to her doorstep.
"When I embraced her, I realised—even if they can’t walk through the Holy Doors in Rome, we can bring that grace to them. We become the doors through which God’s love enters into their lives." - Marilyn Chua (Volunteer)
Through CHARIS, the Catholic Church’s humanitarian arm, and Gebirah, a member organisation, you can also help bring hope to those most in need. During this Humanitarian Month, join us—volunteer, donate, or pray for our friends in need, and they will pray for you in turn.
Let the world know that you are a disciple of Christ, carrying His love to the farthest corners.
